Series:

Behind the Science

Behind the Science introduces viewers to leading researchers and scientists working across a range of disciplines. The series profiles academics from institutions including Queen’s University Belfast and beyond, exploring their specialised fields and contributions to scientific knowledge.

Episodes feature Professor Mike Clarke, Terry McGrath of Bia Analytical, Dr Ernst de Mooij, Colm Higgins, Daniel Pincheira-Donoso, Dr Ultan Power, Dr Johnny Stewart, Dr Katie Mack (astrophysicist), Professor Nigel Hart, Chérie Armour, Professor James McLaughlin and Michalis Matthaiou. While the specific research areas vary – from medical sciences and data analytics to physics and environmental studies – the series maintains a focus on making science accessible through personal interviews. Rather than delving deep into technical methodologies, Behind the Science emphasises the people behind the research, their career journeys and the broader relevance of their work to society. The format allows scientists to communicate their passion for discovery while demystifying academic research for general audiences.

Since 2001, Fusion Antibodies has been dedicated to the discovery and early development of antibodies to help bring about a positive change in the healthcare industry.
