Diversity Lab explores what it means to build a life in Northern Ireland when you’re from elsewhere. Host Maciek Bator sits down with people from Russia, Spain, the Philippines, Poland, China and Algeria, alongside local advocates working on integration.
The guests range from performers like London‑based singer Katy Carr and Polish folk dancer Konrad Pawlaszek, to human rights activist Meriem Naili and Yun Long Zhu who teaches Kung Fu across the province. Janene Ware from Amplify NI discusses social innovation in education, youth work and housing; Shelley Tracey talks about her art practice; and a group including Lata Sharma, Denis Stewart and Polona Rogina reflect on belonging and belonging. A special Christmas episode shows how migrants from different countries celebrate the festive season.
Running October 2015 to June 2016, the series avoids abstract policy talk. Instead it lets individuals speak for themselves – how they arrived, what they’ve encountered, and how they’re finding their place. It’s migration as lived experience, not headline.
