Empower the Future brings young climate activists into the studio for frank conversations about the climate crisis. Across three episodes recorded in early 2020, the series puts youth voices front and centre.

Episode two features four young activists debating climate science alongside the economic, political and social consequences of rising temperatures. Episode three expands the discussion with Maia Willis‑Reddick and Jasmijn Hofman from the Northern Ireland Students’ Climate Network, plus Eoghan Jack Brady and Loui Montague from Muscail. Topics range from the Repair Cafe and the Green New Deal to the concept of the Anthropocene, capped with details of an upcoming climate strike in Belfast’s Cornmarket. It’s grassroots environmentalism in real time – urgent, informed and driven by those who’ll inherit the planet.
