Our Parlour

Our Parlour is an interview series hosting diverse guests from across Belfast and Northern Ireland. Conversations span personal journeys, community work, arts and culture, faith and heritage.

Recent programmes feature stroke survivor Julianne Crothers on her campaign work, artist Catsby Eyesore whose coloured‑pencil portraits honour 90s rap musicians, poet Bill McKnight discussing mental health, and writer Liam Kelly reflecting on growing up in the New Lodge during the Troubles. Earlier episodes include politician William Humphrey MLA and Lord Mayor Kate Nicholl, former boxing champion Davy Larmour, Belfast Jewish heritage advocate Steven Jaffe, and author Patience Bradley on her children’s book inspired by her late husband. The series also visits community spaces – from the Ligoniel Wellbeing Garden to Fitzroy Presbyterian Church’s dementia‑friendly service, and Duncairn Arts Centre’s ‘You, Me and Tea’ exhibition.

Presenters Maryann Quigley, Helen Wilson and others facilitate informal discussions that let guests share their stories directly.

Julianne Crothers shares her remarkable journey from a successful career to life-changing disability.
