Series:

Talk Like That

Talk Like That features one‑to‑one conversations with creatives from Northern Ireland’s cultural scene. Hosted by various presenters including Debbie McGory, Karen Mooney and others, the series ran from May 2018 through December 2024.

Musicians include Ciarán Mac Gowan discussing his original songs, Eimear McGeown, String Ninjas and Becah. Writers featured are Angela Graham on her Christmas poetry collection, Malachi O’Doherty, Liz Weir (recently awarded an MBE for storytelling), Sarah McCreedy and Jane Talbot. Filmmakers and visual artists appear too: Gregg Houston on making music videos for Two Door Cinema Club and Noel Gallagher, photographer Inge Persyn, and artist Alistair MacKenzie. Other guests span an arborist, abandoned buildings explorer, and various community figures.

The format is straightforward interview – guest and host in dialogue, covering careers, creative processes and recent work. It captures a cross‑section of Belfast’s cultural output across six years.
