Tellus A Story is a Northern Visions Arts Project created in collaboration with Belfast primary schools. Funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the ten programmes were released in November 2015.
Each episode focuses on a different theme: Empathy, Cooperation, Motivation, Recycling, Habitat, Pollution, Patience, Rediscovery, Perspective and Variety. The films were made with the storytellers, music makers and puppeteers of Donegall Road Primary School, Gaelscoil Éanna and St. Patrick’s Primary School. Pupils explored their chosen themes through creative performance and narration.
The format combines animation, live‑action and puppetry, with children presenting their own work. It’s educational media driven by young people rather than scripted adult content – letting students express ideas about social and environmental issues through the arts.
